As our team greets the new year with refreshed focus toward opportunities ahead, we reflect fondly, and with a spirit of congratulations on three long-time FORECON colleagues who began retirement in late 2022. Ron Johnson, Emilie Gifford and John Gifford recently retired from our team, as part of our ongoing, long-term succession and continuity strategy. Their steady, creative leadership and customer focus have been a blessing to our clients and the entire FORECON team.

Ron Johnson

Ron Johnson retires after 48 years with FORECON. He joined the firm in 1974 after graduating from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and held various positions of increasing responsibility, including Unit Forester, Wildlife Biologist, Vice President and President, having worked on forestry and conservation projects throughout New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Many of you know Ron’s warm, client-focused, positive approach, along with his matchless work ethic and the thoughtful mentoring he’s invested in the deep bench of leaders FORECON has today.

Emilie Gifford

Emilie Gifford retires after 13 years of service to FORECON. She joined our team in 2009, supporting our corporate headquarters’ front office, always bringing a helpful, creative approach to serving our clients. Emilie graduated with a degree in forest management from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. When you’ve called or visited our corporate office over the years, Emilie has likely been the friendly, professional FORECON team member to guide you toward a solution.

John Gifford

John Gifford retires from FORECON after 38 years of leadership. He joined the firm in 1984 after completing undergraduate and advanced degrees in Aeronautical Administration, Resource Management and Policy. During his FORECON career, John held positions of Director of Appraisal Services, Broker of Record, Treasurer, Vice President and President. Alongside our other tenured leaders, John helped develop FORECON’s key technological platforms during their early pioneering stages, including our growth and yield, GIS and harvest simulation solutions. John’s creative, thoughtful leadership is a blessing to our team and community.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to serve clients alongside Ron, Emilie and John all these years, and for the seasoned leadership team they’ve helped support and develop at FORECON, to ensure a bright future for our loyal clients. Our deepest congratulations to each of them and their families as they celebrate retirement.
